5 Injury MVA closes 202 South for hour

This afternoon just after 4pm, as the evening rush hour south began, a 2 car motor vehicle accident on Rt 202 South near Holland Brook Rd closed all lanes for about an hour as 5 injured needed to be taken by ambulances to area hospitals, and the tow company cleared the vehicles from both the median and shoulder.

BLS 7453 and BLS 7455 responded with crews to the initial report of crash with injury.  When first arriving unit realized additional units where needed, an 800 Ambulance and Medic 681 where added to the incident from Somerset Medical Center, and 1 BLS was requested from Flemington-Raritan Rescue to respond up Rt 202 North.  Whitehouse Rescue sent 1 BLS in replacement of Flemington-Raritan Rescue by Hunterdon County. 

Heavy Rescue 7456 and Support 7457 where also on scene with additional volunteers to assist at the scene. 

Branchburg Police was on scene to set up traffic diversion around the incident, and is investigating.
